~ Influential! ~

Lately there has been no worth-watching release in Indian Cinema, but last week( 30th July, 2010 ) a movie was released ' Once Upon A Time In Mumbai ' with star casting of Ajay Devgan, Kangana Ranaut, Emraan Hashmi and Prachi Desai. Directed by Milan Luthria, the movie is basically based on two gangsters from the eras of past and present who are entirely different to each other. It is said to be inspired on the true-life tales of Haji Mastan and Dawood Ibrahim ( Ajay Devgan plays the Haji Mastan character and Emraan plays the Dawood Ibrahim character ). That was a sort of short review of the movie.

I felt really influenced by the role of Ajay Devgan ( He was superb! ). There was a real charm in his role as well as acting, although he is a mafia but he never harms any common man and helps them no matter what! He is treated as a God by the common people ( Basically the poor ), although he is a smuggler but he works according to his Principles, he does illegal work but he treats Mumbai like his love ( He ensures Mumbai and its locals are never harmed ), he does nothing that his Soul doesn't allow him ( I simply loved that! ). I believe a Gangster who lives his life and conducts himself the way Ajay Devgan ( namely Sultan Mirza in the movie ) does in the movie he is no less than a messenger of God ( Thats my personal opinion.. no offence ). I really hate when he is shot in the movie! ( I felt kind of sad )

The dialogues too were superb! I loved the dialogue said by Emraan Hashmi in the movie, " Zindagi ho to smuggler jaisi, duniya raakh ki tarah neeche khud dhuyein ki tarah upar ! " ( Fir the Non-Indian readers : ' Life should be like that of  a smuggler who leaves the whole world below like Ash and himself rises above like the Smoke! ' .. Basically said in contrast to Cigarette ). The songs of the movie are very beautiful and well-sung. My favorites are 'Pee loon' by Mohit Chauhan and 'Tum Jo Aaye' by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Tulsi Kumar ( Beautiful Lyrics ). The theme music of the movie is also nice.

I really loved the movie and am greatly influenced by the character of Sultan Mirza.

The two ladies in the movie looked really pretty in their characters.
